Matthew has founded a new company, FOREST-PKG. Matthew has spent his entire career in the manufacturing industry and is also a tech founder of Specright, a patented technology category creator. With half his career in customer-facing roles and the other half in operations, he has a deep understanding of how companies work both internally and externally. He has held roles ranging from executive at a publicly traded company to founder on both the manufacturing and tech sides, giving him a broad and practical perspective on value creation. He has scaled businesses from the ground up and managed a $1.0B division with large-scale facilities. His hands-on experience—from improving operations at floor level to investing hundreds of millions in strategic capital—gives him a unique understanding of what works and what doesn’t. He acquired a packaging company at $15M annually, grew it to $30M in two years, merged, and exited it at over $70M within five years. As the founder of Specright, a patented tech platform used by companies like Amazon, Colgate, Costco, Tyson, and Starbucks, Matthew delivers real solutions rooted in deep industry knowledge, maintaining a 96%+ gross retention rate over five years. His experience across packaging and technology has built a strong network within some of the most influential product-making companies. He advises PE/VC investors, bankers, and end-users on the right time and tech for investment, and supports M&A in the packaging space. Matthew is also the author of The Evolution of Products and Packaging, and currently serves on the Packaging Board at MSU and holds emeritus status at Cal Poly’s Packaging Program.
