My Journey

I have had an amazing journey in business that in part was shaped for all the places and experiences I have been part of. Here you will see a little of the journey, my start in business was in NYC on Canal and Hudson St. and the meat packaging district. There I cut my teeth on how to do business with all types of companies and people. I understood to always deliver on what I said I was going to do and always listen and try to help great people making great things. I guess they called it a promotion, but I soon took over all the boroughs including Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Long Island. I spend the weekend in the plant and design room learning all I could to increase my odds of being successful. I moved onto a great company back in the day Union Camp, it took me five years to land that spot, but it was my goal. From there I was in National Accounts and under International Paper I became General Manager of a great business in Los Angeles at the time called Fleetwood. At 29 I had full P&L and was running my first of many factories. From there I went on to run plants in California, Michigan, Texas and Mexico. I like many moved to Temple Inland where we were truly doing amazing things in massive capital transformation. I learned from one of the best operators, Pat Maley how to step change capacity and dramatically reduce cost. I spent day and weeks on machines working hand’s on to do what was the impossible. Rebuilding plants and installing hundreds of millions of $ of capital and seeing the results impacted me to this day. I stepped out of large paper companies and wanted to try it on my own, so I bought a small packaging company called McDonald Packaging and over 5 years grew it organically, buy outs and mergers growing it 5X. From McDonald to rightPAQ to TriPAQ and then onto its new owners some of my best memories are with the people that worked side by side on the crazy journey. Today it’s a large and amazing company. Somewhere around that time I decided to build a tech company which would become a category creator, and many asked me why I would do that and to this day I think its deep conviction and drive and a little craziness. The group that helped me do what we did will forever have great memories and they will be the next wave of innovators and thought leaders, some of the best. So here I am now, working on projects that continue to inspire me, amazing people making amazing products and fighting everyday. Look forward to working with you on whatever journey you are on and making an impact!

I like “The Principled Outlaw”

The principled outlaw is a rebel with a cause, driven by a strong sense of what’s right. Action comes from intense confidence and a strong internal compass. This archetype is straightforward and honest – almost to a fault. They need to be direct because if what came before.
